Moringa’s Anti-Aging Properties

As the ‘tree of life’ it should come as no surprise that moringa is also capable of extending our lifespan by slowing down the aging process. How moringa does this is markedly different from other artificial or natural anti aging remedies, which often address the superficial symptoms of aging rather than its root causes. The human body stays alive through constant cell regeneration. As our cells die, either due to environmental stress, disease, or just plain aging, they are replaced with new cells. However, as we age the mechanism that allows for such cell regeneration becomes slower as it suffers from its own DNA and cell damage. This kind of damage is bad news for a whole number of reasons. First, a lower number of healthy cells mean a lower level of overall health. Secondly, damaged DNA will result in the production of imperfect copies of cells. These imperfect cells could then become the root cause of severe conditions and diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and several types of cancer.

There are two main ways to slow down aging. The first way is to reduce the amount of cell and DNA damage that occurs in the first place. Free radicals, which are formed by oxidation, account for a lot of this cell damage, which speeds up the process of aging as cells are destroyed faster than they can be replaced. Another way to slow down aging is to speed up the rate at which cells regenerate. Most anti-aging products just do one or the other. What makes moringa unique is that it does both. Moringa is a powerful antioxidant capable of neutralizing free radicals. At the same time, moringa also contains the hormone zeatin, which speeds up the regeneration of fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are a type of cell that helps build collagen and the extracellular matrix that makes up our body’s connecting tissues and the supporting structure of our skin and other major organs. It also plays a major role in healing wounds quickly. By employing this two-pronged approach, moringa is undoubtedly one of the most powerful all-natural anti-aging foods available today.
